About Us

We are not fans of cards that specifically reward one narrow type of consumption, especially dining out.

Overall these cards are not great for non-dining spends, and so struggle to earn their place in your wallet, unless your line of work requires you to take potential clients out to dinner often, and for some reason, you do not have access to a corporate credit card.

Of the limited number of cards in this category, we think two offer reasonable value if you're eating out a lot.

Who should get a Dining Credit Card?

Almost no one. We think enough Travel and General-Purpose cards offer discounts on dining out. Unless you're eating out every day of the week and your monthly credit card spend is largely made up of dining out bills, we recommend General-Purpose or Travel Credit Cards.

Who should not get a Travel Credit Card?

Everyone. Really, just get a General-Purpose or a Travel card.

What to look (out) for in a Travel Credit Card?

If you must get a Dining Credit Card, look for the returns on non-dining spend. They should ideally keep adding to your miles, even if at a slightly lower return than travel spend.

We analysed five dining rewards cards to arrive at our recommendations of the top two.

Our research is completely independent. We make no commisions if you click through and sign up for any of these products.
