About Us

Fuel Credit Cards, especially the ones that reward you in terms of fuel, are in a way, cashback cards, because they let you redeem your rewards against a transparently priced item.

This is different from knowing you need 300,000 points to get an iPhone 6, since the true price of the phone will fluctuate depending on current discounts, and will gradually decline as new models are launched.

However, they tend to be one-dimensional in their rewards and work if you clock lots of kilometres.

Who should get a Fuel Rewards Credit Card?

No prizes for guessing, someone who drives a lot on a regular basis.

Who should not get a Fuel Rewards Credit Card?

Fuel cards are specific to oil marketing companies like HPCL, IOCL. If you don't have an eligible pump close to your home or office, one of these don't make sense.

What to look (out) for in a Fuel Rewards Credit Card?

There should be enough outlets in the eligible list to ensure you have access to one in the places you are likely to need to refuel. Look for the limit on monthly cashbacks on the card. If you have multiple vehicles, it might almost then make sense to have two fuel cashback cards against multiple people in the household.

Lastly, rewards on non-fuel spend and any other benefits available.

We analysed five fuel rewards cards to arrive at our recommendations of the top two.

Our research is completely independent. We make no commisions if you click through and sign up for any of these products.
