If you buy most things amazon sells, then the ICICI Amazon Pay card is a no-brainer way to get rewarded. If they expand the categories applicable to travel (which is not clear at the moment), this card could well become one of the most simple powerful cards out there.
More about this card
Great value even if you're not a Prime Member
We wrestled with categorising this card as a "Shopping" card, where it would have been the outright winner. But this card does so much more than just enable shopping for retail items.
Given you can technically buy everything from your refrigerator to your groceries on Amazon, and lately even flight tickets, we believe you're better served treating it as a General-Purpose card.
Amazon Prime cardholders earn 5% back on Amazon.in purchases except for payment towards e-books, gift cards (both physical and digital), load and reload of Amazon Pay balance: Money, bill payments, mobile and DTH recharges, which will earn 2% back. No earnings for gold and EMI purchases on Amazon.
Non-prime cardholders earn 3% back on Amazon.in purchases except payment towards e-books, gift cards (both physical and digital), Amazon Pay Money load and auto reload, bill payments, mobile and DTH recharges will earn 2% back. No earnings for purchase of gold and purchases through EMI payment option.
There is 2% back on amazon pay partner merchants, but that list is fairly short right now.
The line we loved was that cashback is applicable over and above existing offers. This means you can use the card on the big sale days and still get the promised benefits.
Cashback credited every billing cycle
Automatic conversion of earnings to Amazon Pay balance on completion of every billing cycle of this credit card within 2 days.
Other than pure cashback cards, most cards make you work to redeem your rewards. What could be more straight-forward than the cash back being credited right back.
If we had a list of "watch out for these cards", this one would be top of the list.
